Pretty nice

Vandenberg AFB

This is our first year hear and so far I love it hear. THe weather is pretty mild. It usually only gets up to mid 70's maybe mid 80s in the July and Aug. It does get pretty foggy at night and about 10-11 am it starts to clear up. But that's not too bad. During the winter it's not so bad. The base is nice cause you have housing on base and off. The off base housing is a bit older but still in great shape. They have re-done it on the inside and the back yards are really big and we chose it for that and also because we didnt have to wait, since we had 2 dogs with us. We didnt want to stay in the hotel too long. The base theatre was just renovated and is really nice. THey have some great tours that leave from base to take you to Vegas, Nascar, Dr. Phil show, etc. THats what I love about this base. THe vet is really nice and she now works out in town on some days so that works great when I need her for surgery on my one dog. THe BX has a Baskin Robbins in it. And we have 2 theatres in Lompoc, 10 minute down the road and another theatre up the road in Santa Maria which is about 20 min with lots of stores and more restraunts. Also lompoc offers some great stores including wal-mart. So overall I'd say Vandenberg is great cause your only 6 hrs from Vegas, 3 from 6 flags and 3 from Disney and Sea World. And about 2 from L.A. And great workers on base!
