We got to Fort Hood in 1998 and just pcs'd to Fort Knox in 2004. I thought for the first year or two that fort hood sucked but all it took was adjusting to the military atmosphere. I went to school at ctc and worked at the family clinics and I miss it so very much. there were frg's so moms had someone to talk to, The schools were great for my kids and the activities were plentiful. We miss BLORA,nature in lights, the 4th of july celebration at the stadium, The free swimming pools to go to. It is easy to make friends if you want to. Fort hood is what you make of it. killeen has a lot of stores and cove is nice. San Antonio has the river walk, the Alamo, and amusement parks, Austin has 6th street. The post is huge and yes a bit crowded but I loved it and miss it and can't wait to go back. Fort Knox has deer walking through your yard, squirls living in your roof, lots of ground hog and snow in the winter thats the only nice things I can to say about the place. If you like to watch paint peel or blades of grass grow Fort Knox is for you.
