This is our second time being at Ft. Polk and I can honestly say that this place is what you make it. It's a small town, so those of us who are used to the big city it can get a little rough on. If Wal-Mart doesn't have it, you don't need it is a big saying around here. However if you are into the outdoors there is fishing, boating, hunting and camping to do in the community and surrounding area. My advice for anyone moving here is to make friends, get involved with your FRG,PTA or one of the sites on post or get an education while you're here (there is not much else to do!). If all you do is sit around and watch the paint peel this place will drive you crazy. The summer here is HOT, HOT, HOT and expect a lot of rain in the winter. Housing on post is improving.....now if only there were more to do in town!!!!
